The mission of the ECLAC subregional headquarters for the Caribbean is to deepen the understanding of the development challenges facing the Caribbean, and to contribute to solutions by conducting research and analysis and providing sound policy advice and technical assistance to Caribbean governments, focused on growth with equity and recognition of the subregion’s vulnerability.

Caribbean Regional Breakout Session at the ECOSOC Youth Forum
The Caribbean Regional Breakout Session will provide a space to present the results of the youth regional preparatory consultations and local dialogues in the framework of the 14th ECOSOC Youth Forum and the 8th Forum of LAC Countries on Sustainable Development, providing an opportunity to promote and strengthen the dialogue with Member States and UN agencies, for a meaningful and inclusive children, youth and adolescent (CYA) participation in the acceleration of action towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Caribbean Youth Dialogues 2025 in preparation of the ECOSOC Youth Forum
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is an opportunity to galvanize action aimed at promoting greater inclusion of youth in all spheres. This roadmap recognizes in several of its goals the centrality of the full incorporation of youth as a necessary condition to move towards more inclusive societies, in which no one is left behind, on a path to sustainable development. However, youth in the Caribbean face many challenges that need to be addressed as precursors to creating environments that enable them to reach their maximum potential to contribute to the achievement of SDGs by 2030, thereby leaving a legacy for future youth generations.

Skill WAVE: Workshop for Action, Vision and Entrepreneurship - Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
ECLAC Caribbean will be hosting a series of capacity building workshops, meant to build entrepreneurship skills among target groups in each country. The workshops should provide tools necessary to enhance entrepreneurship and related business activities, with priority given to women.

Trinidad and Tobago to Chair UN Development Meetings for Countries of the Caribbean
Minister of Planning and Development Pennelope Beckles-Robinson is set to chair the 30th meeting of the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee (CDCC), at which ministers and other high-level representatives from over 20 Caribbean member countries, along with the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Jose Manuel Salazar Xirinachs, will gather to discuss the sustainable development of the subregion.
