Pensions
Pension systems are a key component of universal social protection systems and of countries' welfare architectures, and are a determining factor in the income security of millions of older persons. They are a fundamental pillar of welfare states and reflect the capacity of countries to ensure the inclusion of workers in decent work conditions, guarantee the well-being of older persons and address inequalities throughout the life cycle. ECLAC has indicated that it is essential to consolidate comprehensive and sustainable pension systems, with increasing social solidarity and a gender equality perspective in their design.

Opciones para expandir la cobertura de los trabajadores independientes en el sistema de pensiones del Perú
Este taller virtual, organizado por la CEPAL y la Oficina de Normalización Previsional del Perú, buscaba identificar los principales desafíos de cobertura del sistema de pensiones del Perú y oportunidades para su expansión entre los trabajadores por cuenta propia. En la oportunidad se presentó el documento “Opciones para expandir la cobertura contributiva de pensiones entre los trabajadores independientes en el Perú”, realizado en el marco del proyecto de la Cuenta del Desarrollo, "Strengthening Social Protection for Pandemic Responses: Identifying the Vulnerable, Aiding Recovery and Building Resilience”.

Presentación del libro “Sistemas de pensiones no contributivos en América Latina y el Caribe: avanzar en solidaridad con sostenibilidad"
Súmese este 21 de enero al evento de presentación del libro de la CEPAL “Sistemas de pensiones no contributivos en América Latina y el Caribe: avanzar en solidaridad con sostenibilidad", a realizarse de manera conjunta con la Conferencia Interamericana de Seguridad Social (CISS).
CEPAL participa en Seminario internacional "Pensión 65 en el contexto de las pensiones no contributivas en Latinoamérica"
El Director de la División de Desarrollo Social de la CEPAL, junto con el ministro del Ministerio de Desarrollo Social, el director ejecutivo de Pensión 65 y otras autoridades y líderes en materia de inclusión y desarrollo social del Perú participaron en este evento con motivo del 13avo aniversario de Pensión 65.
