What do you like most about working at ECLAC?

  1. The people in the office are solidly trained to do their jobs, so you can always learn a lot. They are experts in their field.
  2. The topics I work on are a great motivation. Social issues, what I work on in the Social Development Unit, have the most impact, in my opinion.
  3. I feel that the work I do has an impact on people, which motivates me a lot to work at ECLAC and in the United Nations. I'm not just working for a salary or to produce something, but for someone's well-being.

What do you think of the organization's work environment?

I find it to be a good environment. The organization globally has paid a lot of attention to zero tolerance for discrimination, racism, workplace harassment, and sexual harassment. In ECLAC Santiago, there is a whole building that has been adapted to include people with various types of disabilities.

What are the contributions of ECLAC to Latin América and the United Nations?

CECLAC is a think tank, a center for developing thoughts, analysis, and knowledge production according to the needs of our countries in the region. Its studies are academically rigorous and solid, allowing governments to make more assertive decisions and ensuring constant production and improvement of public policies.

What do you like most about working at ECLAC?

When I have the interview I got a very good vibe from the team, I felt that this is a nice place to work, I got a good impression on the work environment and also it sounded quite varied, that I could use my skills but also learn new things, which I like when I can contribute but also learn. I thought that was a nice opportunity to learn Spanish.

What do you think of the organization's work environment?

I really like the work environment and my team, I feel that it is a very supportive team, collaborating in many different projects together, which I like when you can create things with a team. I like the variation as well, I am working on videos, writing articles, planning different projects with colleagues, a good variety.
