The Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Alicia Bárcena, advocated promoting the strengthening of national statistical offices in the region and thus the quality of them to advance development for equality during the seventh meeting of the Statistical Conference of the Americas (CEA).
