Session of ECLAC

The fortieth session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will be held from 9 to 11 October 2024 in Lima, pursuant to resolution 766(XXXIX), adopted at the thirty-ninth session of ECLAC, held in Buenos Aires from 24 to 26 October 2022. The meeting will be held in accordance with the ECLAC calendar of conferences for the period 2023–2024.

 

The session is the most important event of each biennium for ECLAC. It provides a forum for the consideration of issues of importance for the development of the countries of the region and an opportunity to review the progress of the Commission’s activities.

On this occasion, the Executive Secretary will present the document " Development Traps in Latin America and the Caribbean: Vital Transformations and How to Manage Them", which analyses the situation in the region today and makes recommendations for the development of public strategies in four key areas: productive development, inequality and social inclusion, sustainability, and financing for development..
