13 October 2016|Briefing note

Adopted by governments to achieve the women’s rights and autonomy

The libguide Regional Gender Agenda is a joint initiative of the Division of Gender Affairs, the Hernán Santa Cruz Library, and the Information and Communications Technology Services.

The Regional Gender Agenda includes the agreements approved during the meetings of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean, between 1997 and 2013. It describes the categories of existing agreements and additional mandates that reinforce and complement the commitments and obligations assumed by States. Furthermore, it relates the Regional Gender Agenda to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

The guide includes a tool that allows users to search through agreements, classified by category, based on the agreed language of the Regional Gender Agenda. The categories are: Approaches, Implementation axis and Critical dimensions framed as rights. This tool allows searching by words or topics, and offers the ability to search by document/year, and/or categories.
