Regional workshop on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers

The workshop had as its objectives to disseminate and exchange practices and knowledge on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers of OECD countries in Latin American and Caribbean and to raise awareness and understanding of this tool as an instrument to favour efficient, informed and inclusive environmental management considering national and regional initiatives and processes under way.

The Technical Secretariat of the Declaration on the application of Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development from the Economic Commission of Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Ministry of the Environment of Chile in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, the United States Environment Protection Agency, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and with the financial support of the French Regional Cooperation for South America and the United Nations Development Account are organizing the Regional workshop on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers to be held on 9 October 2014 at ECLAC headquarters in Santiago de Chile.
