Minister of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago Will Deliver Lecture at ECLAC

As part of his trip to Chile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago, Winston Dookeran, will visit the headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago on Wednesday 4 September 2013.

At 11.00 a.m., Minister Dookeran will deliver a lecture on "Creating a new space for convergence in the Caribbean: integration without borders". He will be received by Antonio Prado, Deputy Executive Secretary of ECLAC, who will welcome him on behalf of this United Nations regional commission.

The lecture will be attended by authorities, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in  Chile, international officials and academics.

Winston Dookeran is currently Minister of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago.  He has also temporarily held the post of the country's Prime Minister on several occasions. He graduated with a baccalaureate degree in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and also has an M.Sc. in Economics, from the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London, United Kingdom.

The media are invited to attend the lecture, which will be delivered in English (with simultaneous interpretation).
