The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will present its annual report Economic Survey of Latin America and the Caribbean 2018 on Thursday, August 23, at 11 a.m. (GMT -5) at the organization’s Subregional Headquarters in Mexico, in Mexico City.
The report, which will provide updated economic growth projections for the countries of the region, will be unveiled at a press conference led by the Executive Secretary of the United Nations regional organization, Alicia Bárcena. The launch will also be transmitted live via the Internet on the institution’s website (www.cepal.org).
The Economic Survey of Latin America and the Caribbean is one of ECLAC’s annual publications with the longest tradition. Published since 1948, it analyzes the region’s economic performance during the first half of the year and lays out the prospects for the coming months.
In addition, in the 2018 edition, the thematic chapters of the Economic Survey will be centered on analyzing the evolution of investment in Latin America and the Caribbean between 1995 and 2017, with its stylized facts, main determinants and policy challenges.
