First technical meeting of the International Comparison Program (ICP) on the 2020 Round

4 December 2019|Event

Organized jointly by the ECLAC in its capacity as Regional Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean of the ICP and the CARICOM Secretariat.

The United Nations Statistical Commission, at its forty-seventh session held in March  2016, has agreed to institute the International Comparison Program as a permanent global  statistical effort, with the objective of producing continuous series of Purchasing Power Parity  (PPP), rather than distant benchmarks. This new version of the program also seeks to improve the quality of the results, to respond to the needs of government and private users.

This meeting will discuss the review of the regional household consumption list, and the validation of the information sent by the countries during the year. In addition, special surveys whose prices should be collected during the next year will also be reviewed.
