Twenty-second session of the Committee of the Whole

By resolution 553(XXVI), adopted at the twenty-sixth session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the Commission established an ad hoc working group open to all ECLAC member countries, with the mandate of defining, in consultation with the Executive Secretary, priorities for the work programme and of recommending to the Commission strategic directions for its future activities, taking into account the development priorities of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as budgetary considerations. This mandate was renewed at the twenty-seventh session by resolution 565(XXVII), at the twenty-eighth session by resolution 578(XXVIII) and at the twenty-ninth session by resolution 598(XXIX), in which the Ad Hoc Working Group was requested to continue collaborating with the Executive Secretary in carrying out its mandate under resolution 553(XXVI), taking into account the objectives and commitments agreed upon in the Millennium Declaration.
