UNFCCC COP28 Side event: "The Escazú Agreement as a catalyst for climate empowerment actions"

This side event aims to generate a multi-stakeholder discussion on how the Escazú Agreement promotes informed and participatory climate actions in support of Sustainable Development Goal 13 and the Paris Agreement. Government representatives, the public, international organizations and other actors will offer experiences and good practices in the mainstreaming of the Escazú Agreement into the design and implementation of national climate policies. Moreover, the interconnections between the Escazú Agreement and other international environmental and sustainable development treaties and commitments will be explored in order to support the regional climate agenda.
