The Water, Energy and Food Nexus Dialogue in Latin America and the Caribbean

1st Executive Committee Meeting, 29-30 March 2017, Bonn, Germany

Adrián Rodríguez, Chief, Agricultural Development Unit, Division of Production, Productivity and Management, Andrei Jouravlev, Economic Affairs Officer, Natural Resources and Energy Unit, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Division, and Reinaldo Peñailillo, Senior Advisor, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, participated in the 1st Executive Committee Meeting of the Nexus Dialogues Programme which took place on 29-30 March 2017 at the GIZ Headquarter Premises in Bonn, Germany, with presentations on the activities of the Water-Energy-Food Nexus in Latin America and the Caribbean: Public Policies for Managing Water, Food and Energy Interactions Project.

The Nexus Dialogues Programme was set up by the European Comission (EC) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development BMZ in 2016 to strengthen the political processes at regional and national levels that are needed in order to meet the increasing demand for water, energy and food and ensure security of supply in a sustainable way. The Nexus Regional Dialogues Programme assists regional stakeholders in developing policy recommendations and action plans for investments with a focus on multi-sector infrastructure and capacity development activities. The Executive Committee Meeting brought together the regional partners involved in the project activities, and also international institutions which support Nexus-related activities.
