The catalogue includes the most recent titles, which can be downloaded free, and facilitates the access to 1,500 publications produced over the last 20 years.

(5 October 2011) From today, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has provided the international community with an annual electronic catalogue containing the latest organization's digital publications, such as annual reports, joint publications, contingency documents, topical essays, monographs and academic articles.

This new tool, available at www.eclac.org, provides quick and easy access to the most recent titles produced by ECLAC in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese and facilitates the access to 1,500 publications elaborated by the organization over the last 20 years.

For the first time, the regional commission of the United Nations, which is aimed at promoting economic and social development in Latin America and the Caribbean, has compiled an electronic catalogue of intellectual works, which can be downloaded instantly, aimed at governments, researchers, journalists, students and the general public.

"Since it was founded, ECLAC has made renowned contributions to Latin American thinking with a view to progressing towards development with equality in the region. We want our reflections and suggestions to reach the greatest number of social and political stakeholders by means of multiple platforms. The electronic catalogue of publications which we are presenting today is a step in this direction," stated the Executive Secretary of the organization, Alicia Bárcena.

The catalogue, which is published annually, will be complemented by a four-monthly electronic bulletin with the latest news.
