TWO OF FIVE: Use the EXPLORA search interface to find library resources

22 October 2019|Briefing note

Its open access week and we want to connect you with scholarly resources.

EXPLORA is the search system of the ECLAC Library that allows you to simultaneously search for information in printed collections, in the ECLAC Digital Repository and in most of the databases and electronic resources that are available in the libraries in Santiago, Mexico and Port of Spain.

The ECLAC Library collection currently covers:

  • more than 250,000 eBooks
  • more than 20,000 eJournal titles
  • more than 40,000 ECLAC publications
  • more than 20 databases
  • more than 150,000 physical volumes
  •
  • Additionally, EXPLORA also allows the option for staff to search through the collective collections of the UN Libraries in NY and Geneva as well, providing staff with a truly global service that provides universal access to UN information resources.

During open access week, it is important to remember that access to information is underscored in Sustainable Development Goal 16. As an advocate for the SDGs, the ECLAC library continues to promote an understanding of the benefits that access to information has in economic, social and sustainable development.
