News on the LEARN project

29 December 2016|Briefing note

About investigation data management in the LEARN project and results of the Third Mini Workshop in the Caribbean.

During 2016 the LEARN project carried out different workshops in the United Kingdom, Austria, Finland and Chile. Finally in 2017 the last workshop will take place in Spain. The main objective is to create a coordinated infrastructure between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean through the LERU Roadmap for Research Data. The project will deliver the following:

  • a model Research Data Management (RDM) policy;
  • a Toolkit to support implementation, and;
  • an Executive Briefing in five core languages so as to ensure wide outreach.

LEARN works as a data management guide to universities and investigation institutes and also as a motivation to all of the institutes to create their own policies regarding the subject.

On November 24th, 2016, CEPAL organized the Third Mini Workshop in Port Spain which main purpose was to analyse the current situation of data management in the Caribbean. This workshop counted with the participation of the chief of the Caribbean Knowledge Management Center, the director of ECLAC Subregional Headquarters for the Caribbean, the Chief of the Hernán Santa Cruz Library and experts in data management among others.

If you’re looking for more information about the last workshop you can check the publications and presentations available on the website of the LEARN project.

In addition we remind you that you can keep up to date with the latest on LEARN through the website, following on Twitter @learnRDM or joining the group on Linkedin.
