El I Congreso Internacional de la Red Iberoamericana de Investigación en Trabajo, Género y Vida Cotidiana (Red TRAGEVIC), que reunió a destacados investigadores e investigadoras de América Latina y el Caribe y España, así como a responsables del diseño e implementación de políticas públicas por la igualdad de género y a organizaciones de la sociedad civil y tuvo como objetivo principal propiciar un espacio de reflexión y de intercambio de conocimiento en torno a la participación de las mujeres en el ámbito laboral y políticas de cuidado.

El 25 de septiembre de 2023 se llevó a cabo la “21a Reunión Internacional de Especialistas en Información sobre Uso del Tiempo y Trabajo No Remunerado” (RUT), organizada por la División de Asuntos de Género en coordinación con la División de Estadísticas de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) y el Instituto Nacional de las Mujeres (INMUJERES) de México, la Entidad de las Naciones Unidas para la Igualdad de Género y el Empoderamiento de las Mujeres (ONU-Mujeres) y la División de Estadísticas de las Naciones Unidas (UNSD).

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), together with UN Women and CARICOM, held the first part of the Gender Statistics and Indicators course from 13 to 15 September in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The course was attended by 29 representatives of national statistical offices and machineries for the advancement of women from member and associate countries.

Representantes de Oficinas Nacionales de Estadística, Mecanismos para el Adelanto de las Mujeres, academia y sociedad civil, junto al equipo de la CEPAL y de otras agencias de Naciones Unidas intercambiaron reflexiones y experiencias en el ‘XXIV Encuentro Internacional de Estadísticas de Género’, titulado este año “Mejores estadísticas para mejores políticas: medir e innovar para lograr la igualdad de género en 2030”. Se destaca del Encuentro el lanzamiento de la ‘Comunidad de Práctica para la Medición de la Sociedad del Cuidado’ y el llamado a fortalecer el diálogo permanente.

Convocadas por la División de Asuntos de Género de la CEPAL, ONU Mujeres, INMUJERES y el INEGI, 40 especialistas de gobiernos, organismos multilaterales y agencias del Sistema de las Naciones Unidas se reunieron este 5 de septiembre en Aguas Calientes, México, para analizar los avances y retos en la medición de la violencia de género y construir una hoja de ruta común para contribuir al desarrollo de políticas públicas robustas.

ECLAC Member and Associate Member States reaffirmed their commitment to implement public policies to transition towards a care society oriented towards the sustainability of life and gender equality. The ECLAC members made this commitment in the Agreement signed on February 9, within the framework of the 64th Meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean.
