Intersessional Meeting of the 19th Forum of Ministers of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean deals with Principle 10

The Intersessional Meeting was held from 17 to 19 November 2015 in Mexico City and aimed to follow-up on the decisions taken at the previous meeting and prepare the recommendations to be considered by the Ministers at the next Forum to take place in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) in March 2016.

The Intersessional Meeting of the 19th Forum of Ministers of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean was held from 17 to 19 November 2015 in Mexico City. The meeting aimed to follow-up on the decisions taken at the previous meeting and prepare the recommendations to be considered by the Ministers at the next Forum to take place in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) in March 2016.

As Technical Secretariat of the Principle 10 regional process in Latin America and the Caribbean, ECLAC gave account of the activities of the process and highlighted the current negotiating phase of the regional agreement. In addition, reference was made to the capacity-building and cooperation activities undertaken in the framework of the process.

Representatives of the following countries participated in the meeting: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Uruguay.
