New ECLAC publication analyzes the state of financial inclusion of SMEs in seven Latin American countries

1 January 2018|Briefing note

A regional study analyzing the state of financial inclusion of SMEs in seven Latin American countries, and the role of development banks in improving it through innovative practices and focused financial instruments, has been elaborated as part of the similarly titled project headed by the Financing for Development Unit at ECLAC.

As of date, the regional report has been published in both Spanish and its original language, Portuguese. It brings together the main findings from the seven country cases studies—Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru—and supplements them with observations from national and regional project seminars, as well as other sources.

Additionally, three documents focusing specifically on the instruments that development banks use to promote financial inclusion of SMEs have been completed for Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico.
