"We must address shifting demographics, especially the needs and concerns of the world's increasing number of older persons", declares the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, in his message.

Government representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean concluded the meeting emphasizing the importance of mainstreaming population issues in public policies.
