The seventh meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development was inaugurated today with the presence of the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed.
The seventh report on regional progress and challenges in relation to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was presented by José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, ECLAC’s Executive Secretary.
ECLAC’s Executive Secretary spoke before the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago about the challenges for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the context of the COVID-19 crisis and the serious financing limitations faced by the Caribbean subregion.
The high-level event “Paths Toward Equality and Development: Latin America-Norway Dialogue” will take place on March 30-31 at ECLAC’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile.
