The structural problems of Latin American and Caribbean economies and new international scenarios make it essential for FDI to contribute to driving development with equality and environmental sustainability in the region, ECLAC says in its annual report on this topic.
The annual report will be released at a virtual press conference this Wednesday, December 2, by the United Nations regional organization’s Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena.
In 2019, international bond issuance from the region increased and bond spreads tightened. Credit quality continued to deteriorate, however, although at a slower pace relative to 2018.
