Infographic. Diagnosis of structural gaps in the Dominican Republic
Between 1990 and 2019, the Dominican Republic showed progress in the fight against poverty and inequality. However, its current levels are high when compared to countries of similar development in Latin America and the Caribbean and in the world. As a result, there are still important structural gaps, defined as the different expressions of inequality, which are wide and persistent, in different areas and among different groups of people, and this hinders development.

Entre 1990 y 2019, la República Dominicana mostró avances en el combate a la pobreza y la desigualdad. Sin embargo, sus niveles actuales son altos si se comparan con países de similar desarrollo en América Latina y el Caribe y en el mundo. En consecuencia, subsisten importantes brechas estructurales definidas como las diferentes expresiones de la desigualdad, amplias y persistentes, en diversas áreas y entre diferentes grupos de personas, que obstaculizan el desarrollo.
