ECLAC takes part in COP 28
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is participating in the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), a crucial milestone in the fight against the climate and ecological crisis, which is taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from 30 November to 12 December. The ECLAC delegation is headed by José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, Executive Secretary of the regional body, who will participate in various sessions of the global forum. At the conclusion of the fourth meeting of the Forum of the Countries on Sustainable Development, government representatives reaffirmed the dire urgency of building fair, sustainable societies that would tackle inequality and guarantee citizenship and rights, and of acting together as a region to ensure access to vaccines for the entire population.
