Violence against women
Violence against women is a form of discrimination, directed against a woman because she is a woman or that affects women disproportionally. This violence seriously inhibits women's ability to enjoy their human rights and freedoms on a bsis of equality with men.

Rural Women Benefit from ECLAC Sensitization Seminar on Gender-Based Violence
Women in rural communities in Trinidad and Tobago benefitted from a sensitization seminar on gender-based violence, held in recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, celebrated each year on 25 November.
