How to Follow the Third Meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development

All the main panels at the meeting will be broadcast live April 22-26. The invitation, on social media, is to participate in the debates using hashtags #ForoALC2030 and #LACForum2030.

The third meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development will take place April 22-26 at the central headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago, Chile. The purpose of the meeting is to analyze progress in the regional implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

High-level authorities from the United Nations will attend, including the Deputy Secretary-General of the global organization, Amina Mohammed; the President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the UN, Inga Rhonda King; the President of the General Assembly, María Fernanda Espinosa; and the Executive Secretary of ECLAC, Alicia Bárcena.

Participants will include representatives of government from all 33 region’s countries, the United Nations agencies, programmes and funds, international financial institutions and development banks, regional and sub-regional integration organizations, civil society, the parliamentary world, academia and the private sector from the region. More than a thousand people are already confirmed to attend the gathering.

The web site created for the occasion, https://foroalc2030.cepal.org/2019/en, provides general event information, accreditation forms, the program schedule, reference documents, press releases and news, as well as links to ECLAC’s social media. The site also lists the multiple actors participating, in addition to other information sources.

Live broadcast

All the main panels will be broadcast live. The direct link will be up shortly on the Forum web site. Any communications media or organization is free to reproduce the broadcast on their own internet portals.
