The proposal for development and integration in Central America put forward by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) on the basis of its considerable prior experience, is set out and updated in these infographics. The proposal emphasizes the need for a progressive structural change driven across various fronts: the social sector, energy, climate change challenges, infrastructure, fiscal coordination, trade, productive integration and innovation. It focuses on the importance of an environmental big push for equality and sustainability, supported by coordinated public policies capable of decoupling development from environmental externalities and improving the quality of life of the population.

La ARDSI es un instrumento técnico y político que busca avanzar hacia la implementación de la dimensión social del desarrollo sostenible y la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible en los países de América Latina y el Caribe. Se fundamenta en políticas públicas para la intervención en la pobreza, las desigualdades estructurales de la región y sus nuevos desafíos. Fue aprobada en 2019 durante la Tercera Conferencia Regional sobre Desarrollo Social de América Latina y el Caribe que congrega a los Ministros, Ministras y Altas Autoridades de Desarrollo Social de la región.

ECLAC updates every year its report of container port throughput, which shows the cargo volume in containers in the ports of the region, based on data obtained directly from port authorities and terminal operators. In 2018 this activity rose 7.7% in the 118 ports analyzed, with a total volume of approximately 53.2 million TEU. These three infographics show the cargo movement by port zone, the transhipment and the cargo movement in ports by country.
