Parliamentary Summit on Climate Change and Just Transition in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Parliamentary Observatory on Climate Change and Just Transition (OPCC, from its acronym in Spanish) is an initiative carried out jointly by parliamentary leaders from various countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), with the aim of constituting a shared information tool on the state of environmental legislation and parliamentary treatment in the region.

The Summit represents an opportunity for dialogue among legislators from LAC with the objective to strengthen climate ambition in the region. The main objectives of the Summit include:

  1. Presentation of a joint statement that expresses the common voice of LAC parliamentarians on climate change and just transition;
  2. Announcement and welcome to new OPCC parliamentary participants;
  3. Strengthened interparliamentary cooperation related to climate change and just transition in LAC, such as the OPCC legislative data platform.

Through live streaming on Youtube, general audience will the able to watch the Summit’s afternoon program from 2 pm to 6 pm (local time Santiago, Chile, GMT-4), as follows:
