El 29 de octubre fue proclamado como Día Internacional de los Cuidados y el Apoyo en la resolución de la Asamblea General (A/RES/77/317) que “invita a todos los Estados Miembros, a las organizaciones del sistema de las Naciones Unidas y a otras organizaciones mundiales, regionales y subregionales, así como a otras partes interesadas pertinentes, como la sociedad civil, el sector privado, el mundo académico y los particulares, a que celebren anualmente el Día Internacional de los Cuidados y el Apoyo de manera adecuada a fin de concienciar sobre la importancia de los cuidados y el apoyo y su contribución clave a la consecución de la igualdad de género y la sostenibilidad de nuestras sociedades y economías, y sobre la necesidad de invertir en una economía del cuidado resiliente e inclusiva, incluido el desarrollo de sistemas de cuidados y apoyo sólidos y resilientes”

The event highlighted the challenges related to water and sanitation in the context of climate change, particularly the vulnerabilities of populations in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
