Next week the United Nations Water Conference will take place in New York, an event that has not been held since 1977. Here, ECLAC will be participating in different events to highlight the needs and commitments of the region, in such a way that they remain framed in the Action Agenda for Water that will be elaborated from there.

ECLAC has presented a Regional Action Agenda for Water, which consolidates the commitments of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean at the United Nations Water Conference in New York. This, to face the challenge of achieving Goal 6 of the 2023 Sustainable Development Agenda, to guarantee the availability of water and its sustainable management and sanitation for all.

The report "Measuring disability through administrative records of education in Latin America: diagnosis and recommendations to move towards regional harmonization" presents a proposal for measuring disability for administrative records in education at the initial, primary, secondary, tertiary and higher education levels to be applied in Latin America and to move towards a framework of comparability and harmonization between countries in the region of statistical information on students with disabilities.

ECLAC Member and Associate Member States reaffirmed their commitment to implement public policies to transition towards a care society oriented towards the sustainability of life and gender equality. The ECLAC members made this commitment in the Agreement signed on February 9, within the framework of the 64th Meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean.
