The 64th Meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean was held virtually from 8 to 9 February 2023.

Description

At the sixty-fourth meeting of the Presiding Officers, the delegations exchanged views on the actions planned for the implementation of the Buenos Aires Commitment adopted at the XV Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean (Buenos Aires, 2022).
In addition, a special regional consultation session was held prior to the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67), whose priority theme will be "Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital era to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls".

The 64 Meeting was organized by ECLAC, as the Secretariat of the Regional Conference, in coordination with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women). Currently, the Government of Argentina, through the Minister for Women, Gender and Diversity of Argentina, chairs the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean is a subsidiary body of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and is the main regional intergovernmental forum on women's rights and gender equality within the United Nations system.
