Side event hosted by ECLAC-Brasilia, the Hernan Santa Cruz Library, Santiago Chile, the Federação Brasileira de Associações de Bibliotecários (FEBAB) and the UNICs in Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago

The Fourth Meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development will take place in San Jose, Costa Rica as a virtual meeting from the 15-18 March 2021. Parallel events are scheduled to take place on Monday 15, Tuesday 16, Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 March 2021. A side event entitled “Overcoming the digital divide in times of pandemic - open access to verified information on sustainable development” is being hosted in collaboration with the ECLAC Office in Brazil, the Hernan Santa Cruz Library, ECLAC in Santiago Chile, the Federação Brasileira de Associações de Bibliotecários (FEBAB) and the United Nations Information Centres in Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago on the 18 March 2021.

The objective of the event is to learn about and discuss how libraries can support efforts to guarantee access to reliable science-based information about COVID-19 and to show videos of how the region's libraries have guaranteed access to  information on sustainable development during the pandemic, especially in regard to bridging the digital divide.
